Juin 2008

Samedi le 21 Juin 2008 - En Plein Air

Our thanks to M. Gerry Alger for arranging the walk and to M. Tony and Mme. Edna for leading the intrepid band of explorers into the darker areas of Newton Solney. Although slightly damp (!) we all enjoyed ourselves; followed by an excellent meal at The Unicorn Inn, Newton Solney.

Samedi le 19 Juillet 2008 - Le barbecue et le Championnat de Boules

The event will again take place at Cornmill Lane Playing Fields, Tutbury.

Players will need to be at the ground for 5:00 p.m.

Games start at 5:30 p.m. and everyone will play at least two rounds.

Along with the usual items at a barbecue, sauces and cobs will be available.

Please note that we will not have any special items for vegetarians.

Please remember to bring along:-

· Wine (and other liquid refreshment) and glasses

·  Chairs and tables

·  An umbrella for either sun or rain

·  A set of boules if you have one. If not, don’t worry because spare sets will be available.

Cost will be £4.00 per person.

The New Year for Amitié Française will commence on Friday 19 September 2008.

Once again, French films will be shown as in the earlier part of the year. Subject to the Priory Centre being available the new season of film shows will commence on Saturday 20th September at the usual time of 7:00 p.m. If you would like a specific film to be shown - then just let Malcolm know.

The next Committee Meeting will be held at the home of Barbara and Tony Fenwick, Copper Beech, South Hill, Rolleston-on-Dove at 7:30 p.m. on 6th September 2008.
